Escudo de Cabo Rojo

There once was a monkey named Charles. He had somewhat of a mischievous side. Something was always happening when Charles was around. It may be that he painted his room in the treehouse with Momma Monkey's nailpolish. Or he may have decided to blow bubblegum bubbles in his sister's hair. One time, Charles even climbed the cabinets to get to the cookie jar on the fridge. And on the fridge he stayed until Momma Monkey rescued him. Today's monkey tail (pun intended) involved a ...tree and the school's head monkey. Charles was at recess with all the other little critters when a dangerous thing happened. He got bored. Now everybody knows that a bored little monkey spells one thing, T-R-O-U-B-L-E. And what do you know, on that playground was a lovely little tree. The wonderful little tree had many lovely branches just perfect for climbing. With a look to the left and then the right, making sure he was unobserved, he scampered for the tree. Up and up he went, grinning with glee. And then the unthinkable happened! He had found an inviting little nook and slung his leg up into it. But that inviting nook was a trap! His poor little knee was stuck tight and he could go neither up nor down. He bubble struggle 2d valiantly, but it was no good. His arms began to grow tired and his hold slipped. What a sight he was, dangling by one leg! Ms. Giraffe saw his predicament and rushed over to help. She heaved and she hauled. But it was no use, he was stuck tight. Ms. Giraffe frantically waved to Ms. Zebra for help. Surely the two of them could free Charles! They heaved and they hauled. But it was no use, he was stuck tight. With a frantic gallop, Ms. Zebra went for reinforcements. After a few long minutes, the calvary arrived. Mr. Monkey, the head monkey, surveyed the situation. Only one thing to do. He went up the tree after little Charles. He lifted the poor, tired little monkey up and out of the nook. Charles was saved! Mr. Monkey sat the timid little creature down so he could be inspected for damage. A few scrapes and bumps was all the injuries acquired. With a hug and a smile he was soon patched up and sent on his way. When Momma Monkey heard of his grand adventure, she had only one question. "Will you be climbing anymore trees, Charles?" Little Charles looked at his momma with a grin, "Probably."

Is it bad that I laughed when the principal called to tell me what happened?
