I would agree to some extent. These sports analyst and sports reporters are supposed to analyze an athletes performance not make character evaluations. When you say someone doesn't have heart you are making a scathing indictment about somones character. Too many of these "sports reporters" are trying to be celebrities instead of reporting on sports.
