TL;DR I see a lot of stuff like this 'these days' and it's really annoying and an absolutely useless argument. If you put Nicki Minaj's verse from Monster up against the suck it and see lyrics from a section of the Led Zeppelin Lemon Song it would look just as ridiculous. I am definitely a bigger Zeppelin fan than I am Nicki Minaj fan but where does shit like this stop? Why do people feel the need to complain about the 'state of modern music'? If you don't like Nicki Minaj, Drake, Kanye West..., Justin Bieber or whoever - don't listen to them. It really is that simple. I see more people hating on them than supporting the artists they do like and it really baffles me. It's infinitely pointless. Also, saying hip hop artists or pop singers don't have talent is also mad redundant. I know myself, from literal first hand experience, anyone can learn to play 4 chords on a guitar but it takes a certain skill set to know how to string multi syllabic rhymes together well, or to take a sample from a old soul song and turn it into a completely different song with a different feel and message behind it. P.S. There's no way Kanye West is making a David Bowie tribute album, stop talking absolute nonsense. Where's he going to find the time to do something that when he's got a new album of his own original material coming out next month. And even if he was to do a tribute album - YOU DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO IT. Time. |
