Telling God and others that we are wrong and that we are sorry for the mistakes we have when god made you lyrics can be an extremely difficult thing. We may wish to avoid it because it makes us feel uncomfortable to examine ourselves so deeply. It’s awkward, even painful, to own up to our thoughtless or selfish deeds. However, by acknowledging our selfishness and the harm we’ve caused others (whether intentional or unintentional), we open ourselves up to something new and even beautiful - it opens us up to a more God-like reality.

“And forgive us our sins, as we ourselves have forgiven those who have sinned against us.” Matthew 6:12
